The two videos below two of my favourite ones I have seen during my research, the first is using M&Ms to animate the Light and Day from Polyphonic Spree.
The second has coins coming out of all the nooks and crannies were we tend to drop them, coming altogether to create an object. This video has a shoe at the end, however there have been a couple of different endings such as a wrapped present with a bow.
